Brown | Trinity Rep M.F.A. Programs in Acting and Directing

Admissions

Application, audition, and financial aid information

In light of current health conditions and to limit risks associated with travel for our applicants and faculty, Brown/Trinity has made the decision to shift all auditions to the virtual platform for our 2022 application cycle.

In order to create greater access to our application cycle as we've made this shift, Brown/ Trinity Rep will extend our application deadline.  Applications will be accepted Wednesday January 12th at noon through Sunday January 16th at midnight.

Our next application cycle for Directing will open in September '22 for admission in Fall 2023.

We share appreciation and gratitude to all for your flexibility as we collectively continue to navigate forward safely.

From July 2020:

In response to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on practice and production in our embodied discipline, and to firmly center our current students and offer them the world-class education that Brown/ Trinity Rep provides, we made the difficult decision to suspend our Fall '20 admission cycle for Acting and our Fall '21 admission cycle for Directing.

To best meet the needs of our current students, we added an additional, optional year of curriculum and production for our second-year and third-year actors and directors, who lost embodied opportunities in the shift to virtual learning in Spring ’20.  Additional time is tuition-free, stipended at the level of each student’s demonstrated financial need, and continued health insurance coverage is provided.

Admission to the M.F.A. Acting Program is based on materials submission, a private audition, and a group callback held on the day of the applicant's audition. Each year, Brown/ Trinity Rep admits ten actors.
Admission to the M.F.A. Directing Program is based on submission of materials and a private audition and interview. Each year, Brown/ Trinity Rep admits two directors to our program.
